Good Day Beautiful Overhills Families!!

My name is Alasha D. Dixon and I have the pleasure of being one of  Overhill Elementary School Counselor's. I have the pleasure to have been with Overhills for the school year 2018-2019  and I am excited about the upcoming school year 2019-2020. Previously I was a school counselor for New Hanover County Schools in Wilmington, NC as well as Johnsonville Elementary here in Harnett County. I am originally from Fayetteville, NC but live in Hope Mills. I received my bachelor's from UNC-Pembroke where I majored in Sociology with a minor in Social Welfare. I obtained my Master's from Webster University with my major being Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in School Counseling. I have future aspirations to become a licensed therapist as well as a school counselor.

I have a heart for kids and their education.  The school guidance curriculum is filled with meaningful lessons about Character Traits, Antil Bullying, Teamwork, Kindness, Self-Control with Meditation, Preservence, Empathy, Good Judgment, Career Development, and so much more. I also facilitate numerous activities here at OES which include, Safety Patrol, EOG Pep Rally Facilitator, Lynx Step Team, Toys for Tots Coordinator, Talent Show Director, as well as leadership teams within the school.  I have an open door policy, so I welcome parents and staff can contact me at any time. I look forward in entering my 2nd year at Overhills Elementary School!!

Always Smiling,

Alasha D. Dixon, MA, NCLSC
