Welcome to art! My name is Shaina Brand. This is my first year teaching as I recently graduated from Metropolitan State University in Denver, CO with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art Education. I am very excited to be starting my teaching career with Harnett County Schools!

I have lived in Colorado for the majority of my life; however, I have also lived in California where I met my husband. We recently moved to Fayetteville due to my husband being stationed in Fort Bragg. When I am not teaching, I love to partake in outdoor adventures ranging from kayaking to hiking, and work on my own art practice. Although I love to create with all types of art materials, painting is my medium of choice.

I want art to be a safe space for students to be creative and push the boundaries of what art can be. The new approach to remote learning can be stressful, but no matter the circumstances, I want to show students that art exists all around us!
