1st Grade Teacher Assistant

I have been a teaching assistant for 20 years and 11 years as a bus driver.  I began my love of education working as a lead teacher in a daycare. I loved it so much, I bought the daycare. I went on to get my North Carolina Early Childhood Credential and then my North Carolina Early Childhood Level I Administrator/Director certificate. I have been at Coats Elementary School since 2001. 

I live in Erwin with my husband, Bently. We have three children [Zakk, Logan and Nina] and five grandsons [Cayden, Oakley, Blaine, Carson and Asher]. We also have a very spoiled german shepherd, Zahne. We enjoy trips to Southport and the mountains. I love going to the movies. My favorite colors are purple and yellow. I love doughnuts. Something few people know about me is that I am a very good swimmer and was even a lifeguard!

I love to start a new school year and get excited about seeing children learn.
