I am delighted to be your school social worker here at STAR Academy. I am new to STAR; however, I am not new to the school system. I have been a substitute teacher and tutor in Lee County for five years. Most recently, I was a school-based therapist within Orange County Schools.
I am an Alumni of Western Harnett High School. Beyond high school, I received my Associates in Arts at Wake Tech, a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from William Peace College, and a Masters in Social Work at the University of Southern California Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work.
Outside of work I love to spend time with my family. I have been married to my amazing husband for eleven years. We have two children and a Mini AussieDoodle named Samurai. We enjoy watching movies, playing basketball, or video games together. I enjoy reading and am a HUGE fan of Harry Potter or anything dealing with mysteries, monsters, or magic. I look forward to bringing my creativity and sense of wonder to my position here at STAR, and greatly look forward to getting to know my new family.
