Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Marcia Reese
My name is Mrs. Reese and I’m excited to be here, teaching First grade, yay!!!!! I am originally from Harnett County; I graduated from Buies Creek and Harnett Central High School. I attended Winston-Salem State University (WSSU), graduating in 1999. I soon met and married my husband (20 years now) who was active duty military (Army) at the time; now fully retired (28 years). Soon after moving to Ft. Hood, Texas at the end of 2001, he deployed in April 2003 and after that 4 other times.
While living in TX, we had two children, now both teenagers (15 and 18). I attended Baylor University for a master’s degree in Communication Sciences Disorder and worked in the schools as an SLP. Later on, I decided to open my own outpatient clinic for Speech and Occupational therapy. During those years, I decided to work on another master's degree in Education: Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, graduating in 2011. I’m currently preparing my proposal for URR at Walden University for Ed.D in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. In 2014, we PCS to Vicenza, Italy and we enjoyed traveling the country and 14+ other surrounding countries!
Since returning, I’ve had the pleasure to work as an EC teacher and teach 4th grade. I’m ecstatic to teach first grade, I’ve always enjoyed working with younger ones while working as a Speech therapist. I believe my knowledge and experience as a Speech therapist combined with teaching first grade will be an awesome mix for students learning to read!
I enjoy spending time with my family, loving on our dog, Jack (Yorkie and Shih Tzu mix, which is known as a Shorkie) working in my volunteer organization I created for children living in shelters, and other community organizations (when I can now), and TRAVELING!!!
