There is a Google Classroom for each class period I teach and one for my Advisory / Homeroom.
For example: If your child is in my 1st period, they will be assigned a class code to be accepted into my Google Classroom.
(I do not publish this code because this is a public site. The safety and privacy of my students is a priority. Only the students assigned to my class by the principal or guidance will get the code to enter the class. Parents or guardians cleared by the school to receive information about that child are sent an invitation through email.)
Once they are in their Google Classroom, they have access to all the announcements I send to that 1st, 2nd, or 4th period.
If your child is absent, suspended, or on a class trip, I will post the work we are doing in class that day with a deadline. That way, they can access it and be able to do it in order to keep up so they do not fall behind. I post it during the time of their class period once I find out who is not in class.
As a parent, you can have your email added to your child's Google Classroom.
***If you do not know what is going on in your child's Google Classroom, ask them to open it for you and go to view your assignments/work. It will show any missing work they have. If it says graded and you do not see a grade, please know a zero is a grade. If you question whether the assignment has been graded yet, there are two things you can do.
1. Check Power School. 2. Email your child's teacher.
(The grades will always be posted in Power School, because that is where your child's GPA will be, along with the break down of all their six-week exams, and the final grades will be entered on report cards.)
