Here at Buies Creek Elementary, we participate in the NC Children's Book Award Program (NCCBA).  In this program, each year students from across the state nominate their favorite books which meet the award criteria. Then the NCCBA state committee narrows the nominations down to 10-12 titles.  School and public libraries promote and read the books during the year and finally, in the spring, students from across the state vote on their favorite. The program aims to introduce new and exciting literature to broaden students' reading interests.
