Mrs. McDonald is a lifelong learner from Northampton County, NC. After graduating from East Carolina University with a Bachelors Degree in Recreational Therapy, she worked in the psychology field for 2 years. During this time, she moved to Harnett County where her now-husband was from. It wasn't long before she decided to return to school at Campbell University to obtain her NC Teaching License to pursue her passion of teaching and has loved every second of her teaching career. Now, as an administrator, she looks forward to continuing to grow professionally and encouraging others to do the same.
Mrs. McDonald has 10 years of experience in education. She began her career with Harnett County Schools as a Lateral Entry teacher. She taught kindergarten at Anderson Creek Primary School for over 4 years, then transitioned to a 2nd-grade teacher at LaFayette Elementary, where she spent the next 6 years. During this time, she worked to obtain her National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist. In the fall of 2020, she was selected to participate in the Sandhills Regional Education Consortium as a member of the Principal Fellows Program. While completing her Administrative Internship at Lillington-Shawtown Elementary, she became the Assistant Principal at Angier Elementary School. Mrs. McDonald will graduate with her Masters of School Administration from Campbell University in May 2022.
Mrs. McDonald and her husband, Noah reside in Lillington with their son, Brodie, and boxer, Max.
