Welcome to Mrs. Tart's Class!!

The 2022-2023 school year is my sixth year of teaching, and I am so excited to get to know each one of my new students and their family.

In May of 2017, I graduated from Meredith College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a K-6 teaching license. While at Meredith, I was awarded the Dianne Baker Student Teaching Award, which helped me fund my classroom. Immediately after graduation, I traveled abroad to Italy, studying schools in a global context. I learned a significant amount about how schools operate around the world and use these experiences to help me make decisions in my classroom on a daily basis.

I grew up in Coats, NC and was a CEMS Falcon myself. While at Coats-Erwin, I played volleyball, softball and basketball. I am now the softball coach at CEMS. I have been married since October 2018. My husband and I live in Coats. We just had our first son, Teagan, in July and we have a Goldendoodle named Lily. We enjoy being outside and spending time with our family and friends. 

My goal in the classroom is for every student to be successful! We work hard every day to achieve this goal.
