Born in Durham, NC, I grew up in Jacksonville, NC and graduated from JHS in 1994. I received a NC Teaching Fellows Scholarship to attend East Carolina University and graduated cum laude in 1998. I began my teaching career in Pitt County, NC and have been teaching for over 20 years in North Carolina schools. My first 18 years were in elementary music and I am very much enjoying the switch to middle school. I am proud to be a Highland Middle School Viking!
I am a National Board certified teacher in Early/Middle Childhood music and have teaching certifications in K-12 music, ESL, and AIG. I love to learn so I am constantly adding more certifications to my teaching license.
I married my husband, Mike, in 2001 and we currently have two fur babies, Callie and Luna. We love to travel, watch movies, and hang out with our friends.
