Kindergarten Teacher

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood education from Arkansas Tech University (Russellville, Arkansas) and am certified to teach grades K-6.  This is my 24th year teaching kindergarten at Coats Elementary.  I was chosen as the Coats Elementary Teacher of the Year for the 2011-2012 school year. 

Mr. Chisum and I live in Fuquay-Varina and we love to go to the beach! We have just become "empty nesters" and are adjusting to a much quieter home.  We have two sons, Matthew and Luke.  Matthew is a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.  He is a student and a pitcher on the baseball team (Go Braves).  Luke graduated from Fuquay-Varina High School in June of 2021.  He is completing a gap year program and living in Costa Rica until January 29, 2022.  While he is there he will teach English to Costa Rican children, be certified in SCUBA and work with sea turtles.   We have a fat, black cat named Colbi and 4 rabbits!  Their names are Scribbles, Piglet, Marcie and Peppermint Patty.  I am very excited to be your child's kindergarten teacher!
