Mrs. Lynn Georgiady

First Grade Teacher

I am originally from the Borough of Queens, Jackson Heights, in New York City.  My family relocated to Cary, N.C. when I was young. I attended Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh.

I began my teaching journey in New York City teaching at St. Mary's School in Long Island City.  I then moved to North Carolina and taught at Immaculata School in Durham.  I began my public school service in Wake County Public Schools.  I have taught at Apex Elementary (at that time, Apex was a Gifted and Talented Magnet School and I taught there for 6 years and loved it, Cary Elementary, and Green Hope Elementary.   I began teaching in Harnett County at Coats Elementary in 2007.  This will be my 16th year at Coats!

I live in Lillington with my husband, Mike, who teaches at Campbell University and our 3 cats, Max, Patches, and Sandy. I enjoy trips to the N.C. coast and mountains.  My hobbies include crocheting since I was 14 years old, scrapbooking when time permits, and working on my family tree genealogy, and furniture refinishing!  My husband and I are parishioners at St. Bernadette Church in Fuquay Varina.  My husband and I grow various fruits and vegetables at our home.  I enjoy home-canning.  I love to cook anything Italian!  I am passionate about reading.  I go visiting state parks in North Carolina with my husband, watch old movies and vintage TV comedy and game shows, gardening, and visit the State Farmer's Market throughout the year.  My favorite colors are blue, yellow, and white.  I enjoy hazelnut flavored coffee! I love Starbucks and Target. One fact that most people do not know about me is that I had a homebased craft business (fiber art) and showed at Cary Laze Days.

I continually get excited about the start of school each August!  New children, new ideas, new beginnings!  That is why I come back!
