Mindy Alvarado

4th Grade Teacher - Dual Language (English)

All About Mrs. Alvarado 

Mrs. Alvarado is 36 years old. Her birthday is December 13.  She is married to Mr. Dominic, who is a deputy in Harnett County. Mr. Dominic and Mrs. Alvarado have been together for 21 years.   They grew up in church together and attended school together.  Mr. Dominic enjoys watching YouTube videos and surfing online.  They have one son, named Josh, who attends Coats Erwin Middle.  Josh enjoys playing basketball, soccer, and baseball.

Mrs. Alvarado, Mr. Dominic, and Josh attend church in Anderson Creek at Manna.  Everyone in the family is a UNC Tarheel fan and enjoys going to sporting events.  For family time they like to eat out, play board games, and go to the movies.  They also love to travel and take vacations.  Their favorite way to vacation is by taking cruises.

Mrs. Alvarado enjoys reading, playing with her dogs, going to the movies, eating out, and being with her family.  Mrs. Alvarado has 4 dogs (Neva, Zoey, Chug Norris, and Johnny).  She enjoys doing animal rescue and helping animals live a better life in a forever home.  Mrs. Alvarado’s favorite authors are V.C. Andrews, Ann Patchett, and R.L. Stine.  Her favorite food is BBQ chicken and pizza.  Her favorite candy is Chapel Hill Toffee and Harbio gummies. Mrs. Alvarado loves daisies, the color pink, horror movies, and teaching.

Mrs. Alvarado graduated in 2004 from Triton High School in Erwin.  She then got her bachelor's degree from Methodist University in Elementary Education in 2008.  Mrs. Alvarado taught kindergarten for 2 years at Gentry Primary before continuing her education at Campbell University with a master’s degree in Elementary Education and an add-on certification in Academically and Intelligently Gifted Education.  Mrs. Alvarado then moved up to 2nd grade and taught for 5 years.  Mrs. Alvarado enjoyed teaching 2nd grade.  In 2015 Mrs. Alvarado decided to try something new.  She got an add-on degree in Special Education and taught Special Education at Gentry. Mrs. Alvarado was excited to make the move to Coats Elementary and taught 4th grade. She is currently working towards her Doctorate Degree in Education. Mrs. Alvarado is excited to begin her sixth year in Dual Language.
