Instructional Technology Facilitator
I am originally from the coast of NC. After high school, I attended Campbell University. I graduated in May 2001 with honors and a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I have been teaching for Harnett County Schools ever since. I started my career as a first grade teacher at Gentry Primary School, in which I was selected as the 2007-2008 Teacher of the Year.
After six years, I transferred to Coats Elementary School to serve as the Instructional Technology Facilitator. I graduated from East Carolina University in May 2009 with a Masters of Education degree in Instructional Technology. In spring 2021, I was honored to be selected as the 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year. This is my 22nd year of teaching and my 16th year serving as our Instructional Technology Facilitator. I deliver 21st century instruction to our students as well as our faculty and staff. I perform many other duties as well as serve on various school committees. I also help lead our Battle of the Books team, FIRST LEGO League team, and Buzzin' Brainiacs Club.
During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, and friends. I also enjoy crafts, reading, and catching up on my favorite TV shows. My favorite color is purple and my favorite place to travel is the beach.
