Ms. Martha Fuller
Welcome to First Grade!
This is my 19th year in public education. I have held various positions throughout my teaching career-TA in Severely and Profoundly Disabled, 1:1 assistant, and teaching in a self-contained classroom, with the population predominantly on the Autism Spectrum. For most of my years I worked in Cumberland County in a self-contained pre-k classroom. This is my 7th year in Harnett County. I taught 2 years in an EC self-contained classroom, 4 years in Kindergarten and this is my first year in First Grade! I am looking forward to this exciting new adventure! I have received training in sign language, ABA, and many other techniques/strategies through TEACCH.
I have my AAS in Early Childhood Education and my Bachelors' Degree in Birth-Kindergarten Education. I am licensed in Elementary Education, Special Education, and B-K Education. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Reading Instruction at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke!
Personally I have 3 adult children-ages 28, 26 and 25. I have 5 grandchildren-3 girls and 2 boys. I also have 4 furbabies-Bitsy Boo, Grayson, Shenanigans and Daisy! My motto has always been "If it is good for the child, I am willing to do it!" This motto has carried me through my personal life as well as my professional life!
In the classroom, we believe in positive behavior reinforcement through various strategies. We use lots of music, visuals, kinesthetic and hands-on activities to meet the various learning styles of our students. We provide lots of 1:1 enrichment and remediation activities as needed.
We acknowledge that YOU are your child's first teacher and look forward to collaborating with you on your child's continued growth and academic progress! We hope to make this first step in their educational journey exciting for you and your child!
