6th Grade, ELA

I am excited to say this year is my 12th year at Harnett Central Middle School. I have taught Language Arts for 12 years at HCMS and one year included Science, as well. I have a total of 29 years of teaching experience in the classroom and all but one of those years have been in Harnett County. I have taught 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade and 6th Grade. I am a native of Harnett County and a graduate of Harnett Central High School . After high school, I continued my education at East Carolina University where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. I also earned  a concentration K-12 Reading Certificate.

I am the proud mother of two children.  Bryan is 28 and works in our family construction business and Ashlyn is 23 and currently in Graduate School and works as an EMT in Harnett County. Both of my students attended Harnett Central Middle and Harnett Central High School.   I enjoy reading, writing, sports, traveling, and spoiling my children, including my little fur baby.  My family enjoys the water, so in our spare time I can be found at Atlantic Beach enjoying anything related to water, fun and the sun.
