Mrs. Morrow

Mrs. Susan Morrow is a native of Minnetonka, Minnesota and has lived in Harnett County for over twenty years. Mrs. Morrow began teaching at Harnett Central Middle School in 2001. She is married to Dr. Phillip Morrow, the Director of Choral Activities at Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC. Mrs. Morrow began her music study in voice at the University of Iowa and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Voice Performance from Campbell University in 2000. She also holds a Master's of Education in Elementary Education with Gifted Certification from Campbell University (2007). She received her National Board Certification in Early Adolescence through Young Adulthood in Music in 2009 and renewed in 2019. Mrs. Morrow is very active in choral music around the state of North Carolina and is an active member of the National Association for Music Education, North Carolina Music Educators Association. She and her husband Dr. Morrow are the Co-Ministers of Music at Memorial Baptist Church in Buies Creek, North Carolina. They are also the founders of C4 (Campbell Children's Choir Camp). They have three children, Chris, Hilary and Isabel. Pepper is the family dog.

    Courses Offered by Mrs. Morrow

    6th Grade Vocal Music & Piano

    Semester Course

    Students will learn beginning vocal production and sight-reading skills. Choral repertoire includes unison and 2-part music from a variety of genres, languages and styles. Students will perform at concert at the end of the semester. Beginning piano lessons will be taught. Students will use the program SmartMusic to improve skills in sight-reading and music theory and may use the program to work on vocal, or instrumental music. Students will be assessed on their learned skills in piano, sight-reading and music theory.

     

    7th Grade Honor Chorus (audition required)

    Year-Long Course

    Student will learn intermediate middle school vocal production and sight-reading skills. Choral repetoire may include 3-part music from a variety of genres, languages and styles. Beginning piano lessons will be taught and students will be assessed on the piano skills they learn.

     

    Normally, my students are involved in several events sponsored by the North Carolina Music Educator's Association including NC Middle School Honors Chorus and NC Large Ensemble and Solo Festivals. NC Music Educator's Conference will make decisions as to whether or not these events take place this in our state this year, as they may be impacted by the Covid-19 Pandemic.
