I have grown up in Harnett County, and attended Harnett County Schools.  After high school school, I went to Meredith College as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow.  The 2021-2022 school year will be my 24th year teaching!  One year was spent teaching 5th grade, 19 years were spent in 3rd grade, and this is my fourth year teaching Reading Recovery.

Currently, I live in the Anderson Creek area with my husband Danny, and our two rescue dogs, Jax and Jolly.  Most of my family lives in this area, as well.

I believe that every child is capable of learning and growing, no matter what their abilities may be.  Academic learning is important, but children should also be developing socially and emotionally. I believe that meaningful learning occurs when students are allowed to confront real problems, make choices, and find solutions.  These skills will help students grow academically, as well as helping their social and emotional development.
