About Me: Hi, everyone! I am Erika Weidner, the Animal Science teacher at Overhills High School. When I went to college I did not plan on being a teacher, but I have truly found my calling. I love teaching and I am very passionate about making sure each and every student that enters my classroom leaves with a better understanding and new appreciation for animals. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology from North Carolina State University. My background is in animal care- from growing up on a farm to working at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences- I have worked with all types of animals, big and small! My goals as a teacher are to inspire my students to go into an animal-related field and become the best people they can be! Each one of my students holds the potential to be great in whatever they decide to do and I am passionate about helping them reach their goals!
