Subject: English
Education/Experience: I am in my ninth year at Overhills High School after coming from Cross Creek Early College in Cumberland County. I'm currently teaching English III in the fall and English I and English III in the spring.
About Me: I grew up in Fayetteville, and graduated locally at Reid Ross Classical High School. I then pursued my degree and graduated from NC State with my Bachelor's in English. After graduation, I immediately pursued my M.A. English Literature at East Carolina University. During my educational career I explored a variety of literature from around the world and ultimately concluded with a thesis concerning the linguistic features of African American literature. I continue to pursue an amateur passion of learning about linguistics.
My goal is to to recognize, incorporate, and value a wide variety of cultures in my classroom as well as to prepare my students for the next step whether it be researching and analyzing at a collegiate level or joining the workforce.
My hobbies include reading the classics and showing dogs.
