Mrs. Tewanda Smith

Hello fellow Bulldogs! In 2005, I began working for Harnett County schools as a substitute teacher. In 2007, I graduated from Fayetteville State University with a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in English. That same year, I joined the Wayne Avenue family and began my teaching career in fourth grade. In 2019, I made the transition to the media center while graduating from East Carolina University with my Masters degree in Library Science: School Librarianship.

I believe the influence of an educator should stretch far and every effort must be made to reflect on not just what we teach but how we teach and, moreso, how we reach individuals.  Therefore, it is my goal to provide and share the same rewarding experiences with the joy of reading and learning that I was fortunate to have throughout my journey of education.

"The beauty of life is to be outside the box, so that the box doesn't exist . . . To limit a human being to one mode of expression is really a crime". - Herbie Hancock
