Greetings, and welcome to what promises to be another interesting school year!

My name is Dr. Crowder, and I have been teaching Latin and English at Harnett Central High School for the last 5 years.  I started teaching high school in 2004 and have spent the past fifteen years working with students at the secondary and post-secondary level.  I earned a Master's Degree in Greek and Latin at Ohio State in 2000 and a Ph.D. in Education from UNC, Chapel Hill in 2015.  At these institutions, I taught undergraduate and graduate classes on classical literature, mythology, children's literature, classroom teaching, and international curriculum.  Over the past three summers, I taught Latin with the CCCC Upward Bound Program, have served as a reader for AP Language and Composition, and I continue to serve on the editorial boards of two academic journals that publish research on secondary education.  

In my free time, I enjoy backpacking and camping, gardening and rooting for the Cleveland Guardians.  I share my life with Karla, my wife, two children, five cats, one dog and three horses.
