I grew up in the Erie, Pennsylvania area and graduated from Edinboro University of PA with my degree in secondary education, mathematics. Shortly after college, I moved to NC and began my teaching career at Garner Magnet High School in Wake County. Within my 10 years at Garner, I had the privilege to teach many different math courses including Geometry, Algebra, and Discrete Math. In 2010, I moved back to Pennsylvania where I got a job working at Larson Texts, Inc, a math text book company. This was a great experience to see what the other side of education is like, and I learned about textbook creation and the new mathematics common core standards. After a couple years out of the classroom, I chose to return to teaching (and North Carolina) and in 2012 joined the staff at Harnett Central HS.
