My teaching career began in 2004 at Northern Granville Middle School, as a 7th grade math teacher. I was mentored by some amazing teachers during the early years of my career and worked with teachers that actually taught me during my time in middle school. In 2009, my family and I moved from Oxford to Harnett County and I taught 8th grade Math and Science at Harnett Central Middle School.  In 2011, I started teaching CTE Business classes at HCMS and truly found my calling and passion for teaching. Finally, in 2012, I was transferred to Harnett Central High School as a Math and Business Teacher, and I taught Foundations of Algebra, Math I, Principles of Business, and Personal Finance classes. I was the yearbook adviser for 7 years and I am currently the adviser for FBLA and National Technical Honor Society. In 2017, I became the Career Development Coordinator for HCHS. In this role, I get to help students make a plan for their future and explore different career options that fit their individual goals, interests, and abilities.  I love my job and working to help students figure out their plan post high school.

I have 3 children; Madison - who just graduated from Meredith College (HCHS graduate), and Matthew & Mia (the twins), who are Sophomores here at Harnett Central. I also have 2 chihuahuas, Blaze and Bella, and a Pit Bull named Bruno. While working with students in my current role, I have had a lot of fun learning about ALL the amazing career opportunities students have to choose from, and I discovered my dream job is to be a "weather girl." I hope one day to report on weather conditions from the beach when a hurricane is coming.
