    Middle School Counselor

    Ms. Vaughn

    Hello Students and Parents!

I am super excited to be the school counselor here at Star Academy.  This is my second year at STAR.  Previously, I worked as a school counselor in Moore County but persevered in coming home to Harnett County as I love the area and the people.  I also did my school counseling internship here in Harnett County.  I have a Bachelors degree in Education from the University of Georgia, and taught middle school for a few years a long time ago. I also have my M.Ed in School Counseling that I earned from Liberty University, and I volunteer for the Crisis Text Line as a crisis counselor.  But, I can't stop there as my current goals include being Nationally Certified, obtaining my second Bachelor's Degree (in Psychology), a Ph.D at some point, and writing at least one book. My family consists of  3 kids, who all attend/attended school in Harnett County, my fiance, and lots of animals (many cats and a dog, who understandably thinks she is a cat). I am a homebody and I enjoy listening to music, writing and creating things. I am looking so forward to getting to know all of you, as much as I have enjoyed working with our former STAR kids. If you need anything at all, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I can assist and support you in areas of anxiety, depression, relationships, friendships, crisis intervention, just to name a few.  Let's make this a great year!  You've got this!  :)
