Hello! I am one of the Reading Recovery teachers at Anderson Creek. I love helping boys and girls learn to read and write. I have been a teacher at Anderson Creek for 26 years. I began my teaching career as a second grade teacher before transitioning to a Reading Recovery teacher. I have taught Reading Recovery for the past 19 years. I am currently serving as one of the Reading Recovery Teacher Leaders for the county. Therefore, I spend part of my day serving students in Reading Recovery and the other part of my day coaching and training Reading Recovery teachers throughout the county.
I am proud to call Harnett County home. I grew up in Harnett County and graduated from Western Harnett High School. I completed my Bachelor's degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill...GO HEELS!! I received my Master's degree from Fayetteville State University. I have also earned my National Board Certification in the area of Literacy. I am blessed to be able to work with young students, as they begin their journey of learning to read and write. It brings me great joy to watch them as they learn and grow.
