Ms. Jessica Smith
Hi! I was born and raised in North Carolina and attended North Carolina State University, in Raleigh. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Communication – Interpersonal and my Masters in Special Education – Learning Disabilities.
My teaching career started over 20 years ago, and I’ve held a variety of roles in education through the years. I began my career as a Special Education Teacher in Wake County. Thirteen years ago, I started a new position as a Behavior Specialist for Harnett County Schools.
My current role is my favorite – Reading Recovery Teacher! I have served in this position for the last ten years, at several schools in Harnett County. This is my eighth year teaching Reading Recovery at Anderson Creek Primary. It is the place to be! I love the students, staff and being a Reading Recovery Teacher! I am passionate about working with students and teaching them the gift of reading.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, attending concerts and sporting events, crafting, painting and gardening.
