Mrs. Jen Black

Hello Pioneers!! I am excited and looking forward to serving as the Principal at Boone Trail Elementary School. My name is Jen Black and this will be my second year as the Principal, after serving as the Assistant Principal for the past three years. We will continue to provide quality academic instruction by meeting the various academic needs for students through the integration of technology, focused core and small group instruction while building positive relationships with all students. We will also work to ensure that the social and emotional needs of students are being met by continuing to implement our PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System) that establishes school-wide expectations for all students in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, and playground and by recognizing our students for meeting and exceeding these expectations.

Prior to joining the Pioneer family, I spent nearly 3 years as an Assistant Principal at Overhills Elementary School. I previously taught Health and Physical Education at West Lee Middle School where I also coached softball. I attended Campbell University and I received my Bachelor of Science degree in 1999, Master of Education in 2002 and Master of School of Administration in 2014. My husband and I have been married for seventeen years and we have three children. I am excited to continue to be part of the Boone Trail family and I am looking forward to working with the students, parents, teachers and community in my new role.
