Hello Benhaven Bulldogs!  My name is Andrea Tomala and I am a Reading Recovery teacher.  I am originally from Olean, NY, but have lived and taught in North Carolina for 16 years. I live in the Broadway community with my husband, Matt, and my 2 sons Chase and Ben. When I am not teaching I enjoy time with my family, trips to the beach, swimming in the pool and spending time outdoors.  I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Fredonia, a Master's degree in Reading from Edinboro University, and additional certificates in Reading Recovery from UNC Wilmington and AIG certification from Campbell University. I am also a National Board Certified teacher. This is my 15th year of teaching in Harnett County-4 years teaching 4th grade, 2 years as a reading specialist for grades K-5, and 10 years as a Reading Recovery Teacher.  I absolutely love my job!  Being a support to teachers and parents along with watching readers and writers grow and bloom is the best!
