Mr. Owens is in his seventh year of teaching at North Harnett Primary School. He is the school music teacher along with helping technology and audio visual equipment at the school. Mr. Owens graduated from Campbell University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Managment and Social Studies with a concentration in Government. Then he went back to complete his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.

Mr. Owens has worked with the Band program at Campbell University for 12 years last serving as the Assistant Director of Bands and Program Coordinator.  In his Music Education undergraduate program, Mr. Owens double majored in Bass Clarinet and Vocal Studies. In Vocal Studies he concentrated on Musical Theatre and is a Baritone. He currently plays with the Wind Symphony at Campbell University as the Principal Chair of Bass Clarinets.

Mr. Owens is a licensed minister with IPHC Church, in which he has been a Youth/Children Pastor for over 14 years. In addition to the youth ministry, Mr. Owens is active in the music ministry and drama ministry. Mr. Owens has worked with drama teams of over 40 members. In addition, he is the National Drama Coach for the IPHC Denomination. In this role, he works with a team to create a final piece with over 250 students from across the United States. He has judged music, drama, and dance at the National, State, and Local levels.

Mr. Owens loves sports. He worked in the sports marketing department for Campbell University for five years. Mr. Owens also taught Sports Marketing at Campbell University. Currently, Mr. Owens stays active by officiating high school football, soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, and lacrosse. He also travels up and down the east coast refereeing club soccer, which he has done National Level, Semi Pro Level, and travel U18 level.

Mr. Owens is currently pursuing his Ed.D. in Educational Administration and Supervision along with his Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Liberty University. 

Mr. Owens has given presentations, professional development, and seminars at the state, regional, and county level in musical leadership, special needs in the music classroom, world music in the elementary classroom, how to use technology in the musical classroom, and how to use alternative instruments in a music classroom. Along with working as a marching band clinician.
