I have been a teacher for over 15 years. I have taught all ages in that time and while the ages of my students have changed time and time again, Art has not , neither has my belief that art underpins everything we do. Art at its core facilitates other disciplines as well and defines the lives of each individual in a way many will never fully grasp. My hope is that I can in some way get my students to the point where they will understand the power inherent in being able to communicate, in a visual way, their ideals, hope and dreams as well as embrace it as a voice for those who feel they have no voice.
I have a college degree and hope to continue with a Masters, preferable in Art THerapy. This I believe will better equip me to steer my students in a way that ensures their artistic growth, as well as encourage self-expression. I create personal art work whenever I can find the time and enjoy decorating textile using a range of media. I have artistic experience in creating leathercraft, sculpture, ceramics and processes sush as textile designing and printing, tie dyeing and batik.
I look forward to passing on this knowledge to my students.
