Welcome to Fifth Grade. I am so excited to start my 7th year with Harnett County Schools. This is my second year in fifth grade as I was a second grade ESL teacher at North Harnett Primary in years past. When I am not at school, I am typically spending time with my husband, Marques, and two daughters, Ava and Farrah, and our dogs Athena and The Duke (of Cary).
I also teach a few zumba classes every week and have been doing so for almost nine years.
This year, I am excited to team up with Mrs. Hartsell and co-teach. I will be teaching ELA (Reading and Writing) as well as Social Studies and Health for my homeroom. I love books and have even worked as a ghost writer for many publishing companies. I love the whole process of bringing ideas to life and hope to foster that love of adventure and creativity into my students as well. I think fifth grade is very special as it really is the final link between elementary and middle school. I like to have fun while learning and definitely believe in a hands on approach, yet still learning a formal style of excelled education. I'm looking forward to a great year.
