Welcome to 1st Grade!  I am looking forward to working with you and your child during this school year.  First Grade is an exciting and important year.  

 I would first like to introduce myself...                                              

 My name is Dana Pollard, and I am a  North Carolina Native. This is my fifteenth year with Harnett County Schools.  I began my career as a teacher assistant and bus driver. Through my experience working with students of all ages, I decided to continue my education and graduated from Campbell University with a Bachelor of Science in Education Studies.  When I am  not working; I enjoy spending time with my  husband, Lyle,  and my  children, Gwendolyn and Gavin.  In my spare time, I  enjoy taking family trips to the beach and learning about  new places to visit in our state.  

I believe this year will be a successful and memorable one for you and your child.  In the classroom, we will be exploring, problem solving, and working cooperatively to complete tasks.   We’ll focus on reading, math, social studies, science, and writing!
