Welcome to 8th Grade Social Studies!

I am in my second year of teaching at Overhills Middle School, teaching American and North Carolina History. Before going into teaching, I spent most of the last twenty years working with teenagers in a church setting along with leading churches in education ministry. Along with teaching at Overhills, I am an Adjunct Professor of Religion for GWU Online at my alma mater, Gardner-Webb University.

As an educator, my goal is to create effective, efficient, and enjoyable learning experiences that provide each student with the tools necessary to analyze the world around them. I also see myself as a coach to help students set and reach their personal goals.

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my wife Beth and daughter Megan, officiating sports, traveling, playing my trombone, reading books and comic books, watching television and movies, playing video games, cooking and attending drum corps shows.
