Welcome to 6th Grade Math!

I'm Modestah Rivera and this will be my second year teaching here in Harnett county! 

I was previously a teacher at Overhills Elementary, teaching 4th grade, but decided this past school year to make the switch to 6th grade math here at Highland Middle! I graduated in December of 2020 from Campbell University with a bachelors degree in Psychology. I grew up in Asheville, NC and moved here when coming to Campbell University. Math has always been my favorite subject, even when in high school. When offered a chance to teach only mathematics, I couldn't turn the opportunity down and I'm so glad I didn't! 

In my free time, my toddler and I love to go on hikes, play in the park and spend time in Asheville. I'm super excited about getting to know all of my students and I'm looking forward to an amazing upcoming year!
