Associates of Science (AS) in Computer Applications Bachelors of Science (BS) in Information Security and Digital Forensics Currently working on my MAT in Technology Education

Ms. Jodi Murray

Forever a proud Texan, I have been in NC since 2009. I live in Anderson Creek with my husband of 5 years, my son who goes to OHS and my twin babies. We also have 1 dog, 3 cats and 2 chinchillas. In my spare time I like to referee roller derby, sew clothing and play video games like Apex Legends and Escape from Tarkov.

Before starting to teach spring semester of the 20-21 school year, I worked in corporate information technology for 10 years. I started in tech support and worked my way to becoming the IT Director for a company before making the change to education. Most of my background is in infrastructure and IT hardware but I also have some background in coding as well.

  • My goals for this year:

    • To help you understand and become
more familiar with technology and the role it plays in our lives.

    • To create an environment that encourages curiosity and creative thinking and problem solving.

    • To help you look at future opportunities that a career in technology can offer.

    • To help each and every one of you succeed in any way I can.

  • What is my late work policy?

    Posted by:

Work needs to be turned in on time. 5 points will be deducted daily. After it is due, assignments that are incomplete or missing will be given a ZERO until turned in or it’s past time I’ll accept it late. You have one week to get it in before I will no longer accept late assignments.

Kids should be allowed to have a bad day, the same as adults. If something comes up, all I ask is you “call out” the same as an adult would to work.
Email me or talk to me before the due date or ASAP if you know you are going to not get something turned in on time. Repeated abuse of this will result in the person not being able to further receive a grace period.

The only Extra Credit is through the Chicken Machine.

  • What is the Chicken Machine?

    You can earn points by:

    • Being in the classroom prepared on time.
    • Participating in class
    • Other points will be handed out at my discretion. Think of it like the Hogwarts Cup system for Computer Science.

I will have a spreadsheet with your running totals. 25 points = 1 egg. Inside each egg is a token:

Red token - 4 points Extra Credit on an assignment
Yellow token - 6 points Extra Credit on an assignment
Green token - 10 points Extra Credit on an assignment
    Blue token - Homework Pass
Golden egg - $10 Gift Card to something of your choice (appropriate choices only)
