Welcome to the wonderful journey of 7th grade ELA

My name is Evan Burks and this is my first year at Highland Middle School. I've been in education for a 1 and a half and it excites me to teach your child.

I attended Western Carolina Univeristy class of 2018 and I graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts for English with a concentration in Professional Writing. My passion for education started when I became a Teacher Assistant in one of Fayetteville's elementary schools. From that point on, I've had a passion for teaching. My ultimate goal in education is to help the younger generation in making better life choices so they can thrive and succeed in every endeavor they may face.

I'll be utilizing Google Classroom for notes and assignments that students will need throughout the year. It is imperative for your child to reach out to for assignments they had missed from being absent. 

My policy on missing assignments is that I'll be willing to accept any missing assingments. There is a chance that point will be taken off based on the severity on the lateness but I accpet all assingments.
