My name is Mrs. Kayla Fore and this is my first year at Highland Elementary School as a Fifth Grade Teacher. I am native to Harnett County, where I attended Harnett County Schools, which included Johnsonville, Benhaven, Western Harnett Middle and High School, then went to Central Carolina Community College. I have been married for eleven years to my husband, James, whom I met as a Volunteer Firefighter and served my community for fifteen years. I have two children, Bethany (nine years old), Brayden (five years old) and a fur baby named Lucy who is a seven-year-old Boston Terrier. Teaching has been a life passion for me and I will be successful in guiding your child through classroom instruction, activities, hands-on experiments and real life situations for them to understand lessons and what we learn together.
I am a positive person who has an enthusiastic outlook on life. I love my job and I get a great sense of achievement from seeing my students develop and grow as individuals. If I can have a positive impact on their future, I feel I am doing my job well and creating those relationships that some students need for their support team. My teaching style is primarily centred on class engagement and working in collaborative ways. I adapt my teaching style in order to address every student's individual needs and make the material as interesting as possible while being able to work together to strengthen their social and emotional skills.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family; husband, two kids, and a fur baby and trying to watch or attend as many basketball games at UNC Chapel Hill as the Carolina Tarheels. I love to play tennis, garden and plant, go to the beach, ride bikes, be in nature or nature hikes, volunteer at various organizations and watch movies on those rainy days. I love to learn every day and strive to learn at least one new thing each day to add to my knowledge of the diverse world we all live in. I am so excited and look forward to meeting everyone and teaching the fifth grade.
