Hi, I am Ms. McLendon and I am glad to be part of HCMS.  I am originally from a small town in south GA ( Lyons, GA) that is known for the famous Vidalia  Onions.  I am married and have one daughter who keeps me on my toes every day.  I found myself looking for a new career this past year after my daughter had open-heart surgery and a few set backs afterwards.  I have been a part of the poultry industry for the last 20 years, specializing in broiler breeders and hatchery management.  As I enter into my first year at HCMS as a 7th grade science teacher, I am excited to share the life experiences and skills I have learned along the way.  The standards for 7th grade science align perfectly with my previous experiences from severe weather to cells and genetics.  I look forward to introducing the students to the many career opportunities associated with science as well as science in everyday life.
