My name is Andrea Rodriguez. I come from Quito, Ecuador. I am the ESL teacher at Western Harnett High School. I hope we can work with an enormous sense of curiosity and hard work into a great learning environment.

As far as my professional growth, I have had the privilege of teaching at some international private schools in Ecuador. Mostly, I have taught Language and Literature (Spanish) and English as a foreign language.

My goal this year is to be able to foster in my students the inquisitive spirit of discovery by questioning themselves how, where and what to do in our global world. I also want to challenge them to apply the tools of language into different contexts and, most importantly, I want to motivate them academically. 

I have very high standards as a teacher, in responsibility, group work, and critical thinking, and I hope to make a positive contribution during this school year, both on the faculty staff, and in the classroom.

Espero que podamos trabajar con un enorme sentido 
de curiosidad y trabajo duro en un excelente entorno de aprendizaje.

En cuanto a mi crecimiento profesional, he tenido el privilegio de enseñar 
en algunas escuelas privadas internacionales en Ecuador. 
Principalmente he enseñado Lengua y Literatura (español) e Inglés como Lengua Extranjera.

Mi objetivo este año es poder fomentar en mis alumnos el espíritu indagador 
para cuestionarse cómo, dónde y qué hacer en nuestro mundo ahora global. 
También quiero desafiarlos a que apliquen las herramientas del lenguaje 
en diferentes contextos y, lo más importante, quiero motivarlos académicamente.

Tengo estándares muy altos como maestra, en responsabilidad, 
trabajo en grupo y pensamiento crítico, 
y espero hacer una contribución positiva durante este año escolar, 
tanto en el personal docente como en el aula.
