Dates for open gym/workouts: 8/30, 9/6, 9/13, 9/27, 10/4...maybe 10/18 and 10/25 from 7:30 p.m.-8:45 p.m.
*Must be a current Triton High School student not involved in a fall sport.
*Must have a current physical on file to participate.

Triton is coached by T. J. Morrison, a 1995 graduate of the school. He is also a 1999 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He will be starting his 16th year as the Varsity Boys’ Basketball coach. This is his 19th year as a head coach with a previous stint at Midway High School from 2003-2007. This will be his 24th year as a teacher in North Carolina. He started his career at Smithfield-Selma High School from 1999-2003, where he coached jv basketball and assisted with the varsity program.
Coach Morrison also serves on the advisory board and volunteers with the Dunn Police Athletic and Activities League (PAL). Several of the Hawk players are members at PAL, help with tutoring, and are involved in Youth Leadership. They play travel basketball with the Wildcats, coached by Lt. Rodney Rowland of the Dunn Police Department. He is also a member of the Erwin Lions Club and Advisor for the Triton High School LEO Club. He also does the clock for Triton home football games, is an assistant track coach, and announces line-ups for home baseball games.
While at UNCG, his coaching career started with coaching recreation teams at the Guilford College YMCA, then coaching with Guilford Middle School, and the Greensboro (NC) Gaters.
Coach Morrison is originally from Dunn, NC and now resides in Coats, NC with his family. His wife of 23 years is Jamie Morrison, a school counselor at Coats Elementary School. His daughter Sydney, 19, is a Sophomore at North Carolina State University. His son Carter, 14, will be a Freshman at Triton High School.
