Mrs. Kristin Mills
Hi! My name is Kristin Mills. I am the STEM teacher for HCMS. STEM is a new elective at HCMS this year and I'm excited to explore all things STEM with you :)
This is my 14th year of teaching. I graduated from Campbell University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies. I then earned my Master’s Degree in English as a Second Language in 2015 at Western Governor’s University. I am a National Board Certified teacher with a concentration in English as a New Language. Also, I graduated with a second Master's Degree in Instructional Technology at the University of Chapel Hill at Wilmington in 2020.
This is my fourth year at Harnett Central Middle School. I taught 8th grade language arts for the last three years here at HCMS. Prior to working at HCMS, I worked for Johnston County Schools as an ESL teacher and Title III Program Support Specialist. I also taught ESL in Coats-Erwin Middle School and Western Harnett Middle School. Additionally, I taught 6th grade math and science at Western Harnett Middle School, as well as 4th grade for two years at Coats Elementary School.
When I'm not teaching, I am spending time with my family. I am married (Bobby) and have two children (Levi and Hadley). We also have two dogs (Skeeter and Dixie) and a cat (Sebastian). We love taking trips to the mountains, beach, and just enjoying the outdoors! Coffee is my go-to everyday :) I just love it! I also love horseback riding-- it always puts me in a good mood :)
I look forward to getting to know you this year and learning with you!
